A recent study* reported that ever more researchers and students of all disciplines require dedicated bandwidth to carry out their work securely and quickly over the network. It also showed that while Gigabit connectivity is provided to many campuses, often only a fraction of that bandwidth reaches the end user. Technical and other factors often cause ‘bottlenecks’ at the level of metropolitan, campus and local infrastructures. In order to set up end-to-end connections, cooperation is necessary between national research and education networking organisations (NRENs), metropolitan, campus and local networks.

The first TERENA Workshop on End-to-End Provisioning will gather together people who can share expertise in establishing real end-to-end connection services. They will help shape the way that end-to-end provisioning is tackled in the future. Please help to spread the word!

The workshop is free to attend and is very easy to reach in the heart of Amsterdam. It will take place over two half-days, requiring only one night’s stay.
